THE HORN

The objective was simple: take something old and create it into something entirely fresh and new. The client shared her desires; a distinctive white gold ring, thicker in nature, intended for her index finger. Her vision for the piece was for it to embody an essence of amusement, coolness, and exclusivity. To infuse a touch of personalization, she expressed a desire to incorporate her zodiac sign, Aries. After three revisions of design the piece was settled on and put into production. Refined and redesigned, the completed product was an avant-garde ode to the Ram horn.

INSPO & PITCH

The muse for this piece is the ram, the astrological sign Aries (March 24 - April 19) alias. Drawing inspiration from its horn and its organic circular nature was the natural direction to explore when it came to concept ideation. The pitch showcased its spiral, bony projection in two variations: single and multi-band.

REVISIONS

The primary takeaway from the pitch was to explore the idea of a multi-band ring. From there a revised edit was provided offering a deeper exploration into the structure of the horn. Above, a snapshot of the two styles pitched.

final

Blending ideas and mixing metals is where we landed on the final edit of this very special piece. The CAD renderings shown above were the final images sent to said client for approval before putting into production. The image below shows the final product in real life.
